Pre-clinical Imaging

The UQDI offers researchers access to a variety of pre-clinical imaging modalities. The Biological Resources Facility is equipped with a Kodak FX in vivo multispectral imaging system and a GE PIXImus x-ray densitometer. Both systems offer high sensitivity molecular imaging to deliver precise anatomical localization of molecular and cellular biomarkers. A Siemens Inveon PET/CT imaging system is being installed to provide integrated small animal PET and CT imaging and quantitative analysis. Software packages will provide full 3D image visualization and pharmacokinetic modelling together with complete physiological monitoring. The Nikon Multi-Photon Microscope from Lavision Biotec acquires real-time in vivo fluorescence imaging from research animals.
