The Scientific Research Management Officer is responsible for aiding the researchers with funding opportunities and submissions as well as being the Institute contact for animal and human ethics and some duties relating to AQIS and OGTR. A significant role also involves collection, collation and submission of the Institute's publications and bibliography.

Research Infrastructure Manager
The Research Infrastructure Manager is responsible for the scientific support services to the Institute, including overall compliance with all laboratory-based statutory and regulatory requirements, such as the requirements set down by the Office of Gene Technology Regulator, The University of Queensland, Queensland Radiation Health, Workplace Health and Safety. The role also encompasses overseeing and managing the roles of laboratory managers, specialist scientific, technical and support staff and acting as liason for the Princess Alexandra Hospital on the Institute-utilised space and infrastructure.
