The University of Queensland

Immunology Research

Immunology - seeks an understanding of immune physiology to design better therapeutics

The Immunology area's research is focused on understanding the physiology and pathology of autoimmune diseases, such as type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. The program also aims to use this knowledge to develop immunotherapeutics for cancer and chronic viral infection.

There are three research groups with almost 60 scientists and research students. In addition, we have a joint group based at UQ’s Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN). Immunology Program 2008
