Immunology - seeks an understanding of immune physiology to design better therapeuticsThe Immunology area's research is focused on understanding the physiology and pathology of autoimmune diseases, such as type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. The program also aims to use this knowledge to develop immunotherapeutics for cancer and chronic viral infection. There are three research groups with almost 60 scientists and research students.
