Cancer Biology Research
Cancer Biology - seeks to exploit the biology of cancers to develop new anti-cancer therapies. There are four research groups and over 60 scientists and research students in our Cancer Biology area. Our research focuses on important cancers including cervical cancer, leukaemia, breast cancer, head and neck cancer, and melanoma. The fundamental approach shared by all four groups is to use molecular and cell biology techniques to understand cancer initiation, progression and response to treatment, and then apply our research findings to improve diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients.
