The aim of our research at the Diamantina Institute is to develop a better understanding of the molecular and cellular basis of disease, and to translate that understanding into practical outcomes for patients. Translational research attempts to connect basic scientific research with real patient outcomes. Bringing our discoveries quickly to the aid of patients is central to our mission, and as a result we often have a number of clinical and research trials running concurrently to our lab-based research. |
